Y'all have lost the Ways of the Gaze. You have much shame.

New single from Flyying Colours. Pretty solid.

Iron Maiden today while doing instances in Everyquest two…..the first four albums. Sheer hearing bliss!
Some of their new music is good, but not as great as the classics.

Some new metal music.

Trivium - What The Dead Men Say

Sun & Flesh - Bored

From Ashes to New - Panic

Not as great as the classics but modern metal has changed.

You will be assimilated, Couch. :) Classics, eh? I got your classics.

@Ripper;- I just never got into Ride. By rights, I should have, but it just didn't click for some reason.

Yeah, they were also influenced by the "wall of noise" sound of the late 80s, bands like My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Not everyone's cup of tea. I loved it, though - one of the first CDs I bought.

Slowdive evolved into Mojave 3, and picked up a touch of country. This was one of my melancholy favourites.

I enjoyed Mojave3's first release a good bit (the track "Mercy" is a great example of a very spare arrangement still kicking out a powerful tune), the second release not so much, and never picked up the third (which contains your song). Any creative direction that results in Rachel silently strumming an acoustic is a mistake in my book. :)

But I'll go down this road a bit and match your Mojave3 with some Red House Painters.

How about a lesser known track from some fairly well-known gazers?

A little gazer snobbery for the scene- this band put a note in their cd sleeve that no keyboards were used on the recording.

You know I always wondered what the heck is a gazer?:p

verb (used without object), gazed, gaz·ing.

- to look steadily and intently, as with great curiosity, interest, pleasure, or wonder.

noun
- a steady or intent look.
- at gaze, Heraldry. (of a deer or deerlike animal) represented as seen from the side with the head looking toward the spectator: a stag at gaze.
