Shroud of the Avatar - Update of the Avatar

I'm still cautiously optimistic about this game. But not nearly as so when it was first announced.
They are emphasizing a lot of things that I frankly don't care about. So the question for me is what will the gameplay be like in all the other ways that are discussed, but not emphasized - at least so far. Things like the single player campaign in general, exploring, discovery, loot, atmosphere, and story to name a few.
Clearly, though, this game is being heavily focused toward purchasable in-game assets. Housing is the biggest and brightest 'star' so far but it's looking like just the start.
Still, if there's a good game buried in all this, that doesn't turn into tedious ridiculousness to progress through without coughing up $$$ to buy virtual items, it may still be a fun game after all.
And Spoony, I've enjoyed your work and your website and its content. But for God's sake, take a shower mannnnnn.
