With their Indiegogo campaign for Legends of Persia running for over a month and not gathering that much funding, independent games developer ‘Sourena Game Studio’ has now started a Kickstarter campaign as well, which at this moment has already performed way better than the Indiegogo campaign has.

They are asking for 3000 dollars and are aiming at a release date of May this year, which I suppose means the game is already finished and only needs some final touches.

Here is the official press stuff:

The Kickstarter ends April 4, it takes two weeks to get your money once it's over, so they're going to spend the $3000 polishing the game between mid-April and end-of-May?

It appears May is the estimated release of the Beta and June is the estimated release of the game. Still not a lot of time to spend money, but then $3K won't stretch very far. Of course no one takes estimated release dates on KS seriously anyway, as it's pretty much expected most games will get delayed at few months, if not years beyond the ETA. To be fair, it's hard to predict how long things like beta testing will take.

I find this a very strange campaign. The video doesn't show any gameplay, for this kind of game they are asking for almost nothing moneywise. I don't see really much of any advertising, and they are running two campaign concurrently.

1st I think its an attractive project
2nd I think its logical for them to pace the information they give of the project. So no rush in posting gameplay etc
3rd I think more projects should do this even if they are in Beta stage. To give supporters chance for a special package, as well as great streatch goals that wouldn't be possible otherwize.. and also great publicity

Well I can't deny they have been quiet and not advertised much, but they do have game-play footage. I posted two of the trailers on site last year.
