Will this one at least be somewhat bug free upon release?

No - this will make Clear Sky bug free (somewhat) the way that time did for the original.

I love STALKER with a passion, but I'm just not seeing anything new in these screens, or even in the feature list...

I guess we'll just have to see.

( ^ a happy panda)

If I see one more panda out of you, I'm gonna grab my gun.

At least if it was a baby seal you'd know to grab a bat ... not sure what the proper implement is for a panda ...

I liked Shadow of Chernobyl and I didn't like Clear Sky. I don't know what to think about this one.

Just from what they're saying so far, it feels like they're returning a bit to the Shadow of Chernobyl style. I guess especially since the faction war is gone. I'm hoping for a more quiet and solitary type of game. Clear Sky felt way to crowded for me, which really hurt the atmosphere of the Zone.

Glad to see that they're keeping the artifact system though. That and the ability to upgrade weapons was probably the biggest improvements in Clear Sky I think.

I actually liked the whole faction war bit. It really felt tense and like a real war or something! Except after the swamp area, it basically falls apart which is a shame. But I really missed the underground areas which scared the shit out of me.
