This is a good game, it's good to see they keep supporting it. I'll have to do another playthrough sometime.

Yep as I said before it's a good 4X but not a proper Age of Wonders game.

I won't elaborate either as I already answered why before on other threads.

I'd like to read these comments as I love Age of Wonders but hate the Paradox DLC model so I kept from purchasing it, but am still interested in reading about it.

Basically they took everything from the past games and improved and removed.

My bigggest gripe is the game has no traditional campaigns at all .

I agree totally, AoW was always a little bit strategy, a little bit tactical, and a little bit RPG...I loved that combo, but there doesn't seem much left on the RPG side in AoW 4 right now...

Thanks, Couch. How unfortunate, especially about the AI and the lack of meaningful RPG, which are fundamental parts of the franchise.

Hurray Paradox; how another corporate aquisition pushes a developer towards extinction. Now to be fair i don't know if this new direction is due to Paradox but.... one has to wonder in this age.

Another reason why it turned out this way is because of the shorter development cycle, and from the mouth of the developer they wanted something different.

I might not like it but they claim it's the best selling game in the series.

To keep the franchise viable they have to keep adding and changing things just to keep the franchise going. I think there is only so far you can take a franchise before the new games have changed so much that they barely resemble the first game or two in the franchise.
