Couchpotato spotted two reviews for Arcadian Atlas on RPGFan and RPG Site:

RPGFan:

A fulfilling RPG experience that doesn't require a 50+ hour time commitment is always welcome for those of us with busy schedules. The 13 or so hours I spent on a single playthrough Arcadian Atlas was time wonderfully spent. With its expressive sprites, fun gameplay, robust writing, and jazzy music, it is clear that Arcadian Atlas was crafted with lots of heart and is definitely worth a look.

Score: 81/100
RPG Site:

Aside from several gameplay design decisions that irked me and a mediocre story didn't do anything for me, my time with Arcadian Atlas was pleasant and admittedly insignificant. I don't have any strong feelings for what I played. It took me roughly 12 hours to finish with all the sidequests done. The music had a nice jazz-infused flavor that made it more memorable than I expected. If you're looking for a new strategy RPG and are willing to give a new independent studio's first shot a genuine chance, this one is alright.

Score: 5/10

Yikes, that's rather disappointing to read that the game is that short. I've a key because of the kick starter yet I'm waiting on the obligatory fifty or so updates before jumping in, and I'm still engrossed with Mutant Year Zero as well.

I didn't Kickstart this, so maybe my perspective is different, but I'm totally fine with the playtime. As long as the game is good, I'm happy.

Yeah I'm all for shorter games but this game had been in development for more then eight years already, was crowdfunded twice, even had Square Enix as an investor.

So now I have to ask myself were did all the money go?

As something is suspicious here.

I'm not saying it's suspicious but yeah, as someone that avidly followed the progress for almost a decade, I was hoping for a game that might take me a solid month to explore, as opposed to one that could be knocked out in a week. Then again I've not played it yet, so I'll hold judgement until that's in the books.

That's waaaay to short for me, I take longer than that in character creation.
Shame, I did like the look of it.

Not very good reviews and I have a lot of similar srpgs on my wishlist already. I was thinking I might but this in my wishlist earlier, but now I think I'll pass.
