Ubisoft announced you can play as either main character if you want.

So you don't have to switch as you play. Your choice and not like syndicate.

Yeah, you can play as one character, but the incentive is to use both. There will also be story moments that are character-focused.

I have so much to catch up. I wish i had time to play previous titles. I was quite burned out by this series after black flag.

I do love this setting though.
