On the subject of KC2, if I can be allowed (avowed?) a brief digression, I'm totally fine with the setting, and therefore there being no fantasy monsters. Is the monster variety as bad as people say? It's the one thing holding me back since I'm spoiled on games like Might and Magic. With Kingdom Come 2, I started getting bored at the end, only fighting humans and wolves.
I could not agree more. Put in some old warriors with long grey hair and thick white beards. Shorter, stocky guys don't have to be dwarves; give them shields and warhammers. I can't remember if you even fight any females. You catch the one that is murdering other women at night. Maybe modding can add some variety. On the subject of KC2, if I can be allowed (avowed?) a brief digression, I'm totally fine with the setting, and therefore there being no fantasy monsters.
But there are other ways to increase enemy variety than to have dragons and shit running around. Everyone in the KCD games has the same physical build. Put a giant of a man with a big club in there. Put a short, scrawny guy who moves a bit more quickly in there. They could also add a few more animals. How terrifying would a bear be? It's disappointing to me that Warhorse did nothing to increase enemy variety in the second game.
