Bethesda is now unionized.

Bethesda has formed a union and is the first Microsoft studio to do so. No doubt the recent wave of industry layoffs and closings had something to do with this.

Too bad some of the recently closed studios hadn't done the same, though I'm not sure how much it would have helped them.

Bethesda Game Studios, the developer of Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, and Starfield, have announced a wall-to-wall union of 241 developers including artists, engineers, programmers and designers.

I’ve been interested to see how Union work structures could work in the tech industry although I suppose gaming companies are more than just programmers. Something of a mix between a movie studio and a software company it seems.

Nonetheless, happy for Bethesda workers.

I've been in unions myself and did not enjoy them because of the member due's you pay.

Thing is, I'm not sure Bethesda even needed a union. If any of Microsoft's studios are safe, it's probably that one.

Here's the thing though they didn't get a good deal as the details came out afterwords.

Sure they got more money and A.I protection but suffered other penalties.

I've read articles and even talked to a few who got punished.

Also that joke was hilarious.

This should have happened 20 years ago.
