Man. I know what they are going for, combining a kind of souls like adventure rpg with French culture and painting. I don't know. See the reviews when it comes out.
I don't think it's similar to a soulslike. More like a French JRPG.

Far from Soulslike. It has TB combat with some "action input" inspired by JRPGs.
I like their art style and idea behind the game. Could be really original and interesting RPG - we can hope.
Agree but I think it has more to do with the combat system that confuses people.
Twitchy skill based systems get confused for another Souls-like or Souls-clone.

There's nothing about that combat that's even remotely soulslike.

I was replying why others might be confused.

I'm not sure how anyone could be confused by the trailer when it clearly shows turn-based combat, but ok.

I have to support @Couchpotato here because just yesteday I saw some Youtuber who was confused by the trailer. Some ppl probably dont know this kind of TB combat.
Correct I have played JRPGs with all types of combat systems over 30 years.
Modern players not so much and they relate to soul-likes because it's the hottest thing right now for younger consumers. So it's understandable why they do it.
I've seen other newer games get the same treatment.
Confused about what kind of RPG maybe, but not confusing it with a soulslike. If they did that, they obviously didn't watch much of the video.
