Consortium is now available to buy on Steam. Interdimensional Games is tying to get it released on other services, but seems to be having trouble getting keys to backers.
CONSORTIUM IS HERE

As of right now, CONSORTIUM v1.0 is available for all "Gimme the Game" backers and higher.

The game is available on your own personal Humble Bundle page: Go HERE and enter in the email you used to back us here on Kickstarter to get access!
It is also now on Steam! Here is a cool image for you, specifically designed for Facebook (in case, you know, you wanted to help spread the word that the game is now available!)

Steam keys?

We are offering Steam keys to all backers at the $10 level and higher. We have sent out surveys to you all, and we have started sending out keys. However we chose the wrong method to get you keys (individually pasting a key into an email to each and every one of you…), and it's taking forever. We also just ran out of keys and requested a ton more (we underestimated how many of you have Steam accounts!).

Anyways, we are looking into getting the rest of you keys who want one via Humble's page, BUT will continue the individual method if necessary. Either way, we promise to get you a Steam key if you want one before the week is out. Thanks so much for your patience!

What about all the other rewards?

So now that the game is "done" (we're still working on it and will be patching it post launch!), we will shifting our focus to all the goodies we promised you last year. We are actually very excited about the posters, t-shirts, soundtrack, the Kickstarter only Special Edition AND the iDGi-1 Discoveries PDF that we have in the works. Generally speaking, we are aiming to wrap up production and complete and ship all the remaining rewards before the end of February. We care very deeply about these things, and though they are coming very late, we promise that you won't be disappointed with the quality of the stuff. More information.

I'm a backer and there is a survey and they distribute steam key if you say yes in it and only beta is currently available on humblebundle but the release verson will be added later…

I see pll are getting steam keys, not instantly though. Patience is needed. :)

I'm not a backer, but it sounds pretty buggy on the Steam forums, if those drama queens can be believed.

That's nothing new. I mean… The überdrama on steam.
Dunno about bugs.

But every new game gets a sticky thread about bugs, probably because certain developer completely ignored a similar thing on it's official site. Here is a thread for Consortium:

I'm onto another game currently anyway, so won't be playing Consortium before weekend.

The game was delayed a few months for extra testing. Seems it still needs more time, but that's nothing unusual nowadays.:disappointed:

Just Look at Legends Of Dawn for how not to do it. A few patches, and a game that still needs to be fixed. The developers have gone silent also.

Got it on both Steam and HB, started the download on HB before I've noticed that Steam key is also there. In a way… Who cares as long as it's not alwaysonline Uplay or Origin. ;)

Can't say I find myself too intrigued on the choice of graphical style to be honest, judging from the screenshots.

Music by Jeremy Soule.

There is sort of a joke about this in the game early on.

I played for a bit, I like the crew interaction quite a bit, but the dialog can be geeky sometimes.

Think I'll wait for a few patches, too.

Very short development time, right? The KS ran in spring 2013 IIRC (I did not back it).
Looking forward to read some first impressions.

Full development wasn't that short.Game was in far in development when they run kickstarter, similar to what Expeditions:Conquistador did.

I backed this game and I am looking forward to playing it. But, as usual, I'll wait until it is sufficiently patched.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all those impatient gamers who are beta testing the game for us :).

And the patch will render all savegames useless. :(
Okay, I'm aware that if someone abused bugs to get more benefits should get that stripped off, but still...
Dunno. Can't force myself to start playing it now.

too bad about the patch/lost save game.

But there is really a lot of good stuff in this game. It's hard to believe it's an indie. I've only played an hour and there were no bugs thus far, but the game world is amazing. It brings me back to my younger days of gaming when every game was a totally new adventure. A totally new world. They went a different route with this game, it even has a slightly different interface (still WASD however).

The in-game computers has a ton of information in them. Maybe I'll peruse those and practice in the virtual reality room for a bit while I await the patch.
