Yep with the success of Dark souls and Elden Ring it was inevitable we'd see the rise of more clones. The problem with many of them though is they cant compare.

I'm reminded of Diablo and the sub-genre that game spawned for thirty years.

Former BioWare on Expectations Regarding Release Schedules - NME
Flynn made the comments in an interview with VGC published yesterday (June 18), with his current studio, Inflexion Games, working on the upcoming Nightingale.

“I think players are ultimately pretty fair. They want games to be great, they want them to be polished, and they want experiences to be respectful of their time,” explained Flynn.

“I think our industry has underdelivered and overpromised on some of those things. A lot of times when you see disappointed players, it’s often because a studio or team has set an expectation that they can’t hit. I get that… I can relate to that.”

Weird West Review - Gamebanshee
While Weird West can't hold a candle to the likes of Deus Ex, and it sure does have plenty of questionable design decisions, at the end of the day, the immersive sim market is not exactly oversaturated. And with that in mind, I did enjoy my time with the game. It may not be great, but it's still a perfectly decent way to spend 20-40 hours of your time.
What We Want From the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake - CBR
When the Knights of the Old Republic remake was announced last year, fans were ecstatic to hear that one of the best games in the Star Wars franchise was going to get a modern update. Since the announcement, though, there have been very few updates on the development of the game. This has left fans to speculate and wonder about what Aspyr is going to change or add for the remake.

Fallout London Details the 7 Factions That Will Be Featured in the Mod - Gamerant

This past week has seen a flood of information be revealed for Bethesda Software's next major game release, Starfield. During interviews with game director Todd Howard, he drew attention to the importance of mods and how they will continue to be supported in Starfield. It's no surprise that Howard feels this way, as mod support for both The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and Fallout 4 remain strong. As a perfect example, a new video has been released for the upcoming Fallout 4 mod Fallout London.
Starfield Release Window Proves You Should Read the Small Print - Techradar
Starfield IS expected early 2023 , according to the small print written at the bottom of an Xbox Game Pass subscription plan page. The expected release window was spotted by a Reddit user, who snapped a picture (opens in new tab) of their screen before posting it in the Starfield subreddit.

Early 2023 is a narrower release window than what;s been previously shared. When developer Bethesda announced Starfield's delay earlier this year, it said it expected the game to launch in the first half of 2023, along with Arkane's upcoming vampiric co-op shooter Redfall.
Seamless Starfield spaceflight is important to me, Todd Howard - PCGamesN
Well, it's important to me, Todd. I do understand that the engineering behind it would be immense and I have no idea the developmental hurdles Bethesda would have to go through “ especially if it's still based on the Creation engine, which still has loading screens for interior locations. I fully respect, and don't want to downplay, the effort it would take to accomplish this feat.

Time to accept Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy isn't a tweaked Retelling - RPGSite
For some people, this is inevitably going to be crushingly disappointing. Many wanted a straight-up remake of Final Fantasy VII. Equally, however, many didn't - I was one of the people who argued that I'd rather all that Triple-A development talent, time and cash went into new Final Fantasy games instead. To someone like me, this is the next best thing - taking a familiar universe and deconstructing it to do something new.
25 Years of Final Fantasy Tactics - Siliconera
Final Fantasy Tactics launched in Japan on June 20, 1997. To celebrate the sub-franchise's 25th anniversary, we're sharing our Final Fantasy Tactics memories.
I tried playing Diablo Immortal on PC, and it was a Mistake - Digitaltrends
It seems obvious to me that Blizzard intended on releasing a PC port of Diablo Immortal to appease the core PC fan base, but it hurts the game overall. A bad PC port means that people like me, who don't use their phones for gaming, are completely disinterested in engaging with the game.

A better approach would have been to release the mobile version and work on an updated PC port. In its current state, it's better to hook your phone up to a monitor than to play Diablo Immortal's PC port.
Diablo Immortal proves public doesn;t care about video games - Metro
Diablo Immortal has been downloaded 10 million times and if only 1% of players spend large amounts of money on it that’s still 100,000 ‘whales’ feeding Blizzard’s coffers for absolutely no additional work on their behalf.

The fight against microtransactions and lootboxes has been going on for years now and while there have been a number of victories none of them have come about because of a popular uprising against the concepts. Hardcore gamers might hate them but by definition they’re a small minority and when you’ve got 10 million people lining up to play your game what does it matter if a tiny percentage are unhappy?

Time and again we see that the general public do not care about these issues. They’re probably not interested in paying for microtransactions either, at least not at first, but the insidious nature of the games will inevitably draw in many.
