Sword and Fairy: Together Forever Heroes and Villains Trailer

Sword and Fairy: Together Forever weaves a tale with memorable characters who have their own unique motivations and personalities. Between the clans of humans, deities and demons on the brink of war, heroism and villainy are often a matter of perspective rather than black-and-white morality. Not every hero is selfless, and not every villain is purely evil. It’s up to young deity Xiu Wu, human swordswoman Yue Qingshu and their newfound allies to fight for what they believe and find a way to prevent open war between the realms, to protect peace and shape the world’s future for the greater good despite their differences.

Some of Skull and Bones’ Own Devs Aren’t Confident About the Game - PL
Developers who spoke to Kotaku on condition of anonymity have said that although Skull and Bones’ development cost Ubisoft as much as any other blockbuster game, they are skeptical about its success given that there isn’t much to offer beyond what’s already been showcased. “Despite a bevy of resource-gathering survival sim mechanics, they said each individual part of the game lacked depth,” the website wrote in its report.
Is The Elder Scrolls Online worth playing in 2022? - DigitalTrends
Despite its age and the dozens of high-profile titles launching this year, ESO is still worth playing in 2022. Whether you’re looking for your next competitive fix or a relaxing way to unwind after a busy day, ESO offers a wealth of content for players of all types. It’s also surprisingly respectful of your time — something MMOs typically struggle with — making it stand out in the crowded MMO market.

Fallout 4 not the best Fallout , but best one to play today - PCGamer
Lauren, Jody, and I recently got together on a video chat to sort out the Fallout series. We put them into a tier list from Dogmeat (the best) to Dogshit (the worst). You can watch the video embedded above. Most of the results weren't all that surprising. Fallout: New Vegas is a top-tier Fallout game, along with the original Fallout, with Fallout Tactics being dumped in the lowest tier where it belongs.

As I said in the tier list discussion, Fallout: New Vegas is the best Fallout game. At the same time, I would call Fallout 3 my favorite Fallout game. But while it's not the best or my favorite, Fallout 4 is the best one to play right now. If I'm gonna sit down today and play some Fallout, it's definitely gonna be 4-flavored. Here's why.
Anthem Is Practically Free At Game Stores - Gamespot
At least one GameStop location is practically giving away copies of BioWare's abandoned looter shooter Anthem, as shown in a now-viral TikTok. According to TikTok user clocklava, a recent visit to their local GameStop resulted in discovering a PlayStation 4 copy of Anthem for the low-low price of a single penny. Better yet, a GameStop employee "paid" that penny for this lucky customer, resulting in a free copy of Anthem.

Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery Attributes, Perks, and Corruption - Funcom
Building your character to excel at what you choose is an important aspect of Conan Exiles. Over time, we have noticed that certain attributes and perks are used a lot less than others by players. This is something we have wanted to improve for a while, and Age of Sorcery has been the perfect opportunity to do this.

For Age of Sorcery, we had three goals in revamping the system; one, to majorly rebalance perks and attributes to improve viability across the board; two, to integrate sorcery in a way that suits the fantasy; and three, to introduce an added element of choice in character progression.
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition AI-generated Portraits - RPS
Choosing a character portrait is one of the key decisions to spend hours mulling over in any decent CRPG. That’s why it’s awesome to see someone using the power of publicly accessible AI to generate fantasy mugshots for classic examples of the genre such as Baldur’s Gate. Indie app dev and documentary editor Alex Hay has created some great examples, which he’s shared on Twitter with Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition devs Beamdog and their CEO Trent Oster.

Nighthawks The Vampire RPG The Yellow Pages - Kickstarter
Greetings, all. Apologies for any typos in this month’s update, but we’re in the middle of a heatwave over here in the UK and my fingers keep physically melding with my keyboard. It’s very inconvenient, and makes it next to impossible to spell the word ‘Mississippi’. Fortunately, I very rarely have to type the word ‘Mississippi’, so it could be worse.
Arkane Shouldn't Dismiss Dishonored It's Their Best Work - Dualshockers
In a recent interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun, two of the key developers at Arkane Studios talked about their timey-wimey, loopy-shooty game Deathloop. The studio, which previously made the Dishonored series, Prey, and (for the more aged among you) Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, has long been known for its immersive sims – games offering myriad angles of approach, playful (and sometimes game-breaking) abilities to encourage experimentation, and excellent world-building.

The interview was interesting enough, but it was a little sobering to hear the two devs, Arkane Campaign Director Dana Nightingale and co-creative director Dinga Bakaba, kind of poo-pooing Dishonored. They didn’t directly dunk on it, but used certain aspects of Dishonored – its linear campaign, its morality system – as examples of things that they ‘fixed’ in Deathloop. The latter was very much framed as the future of Arkane, while Dishonored is the past.

Action-RPG Elm Knight is 30 years old, but still Good - PCGamer
I'm a little ashamed to admit Elm Knight, a 1992 Japanese PC-98 action-RPG, caught my eye for the shallowest of reasons: a really cool title screen. Yeah, I know—absolutely disgraceful behaviour. In my defence, the title screen honestly is that good.

NWN: The Blades of Netheril - Guide to What to Play Beforehand
A question I'm often asked is, which campaigns and/or modules should I play before The Blades of Netheril in order to get the best experience? Rather than providing variations on the same answer, I decided I'd put together a quick guide and direct players here!

In short, the only campaign it is highly desirable the player have some familiarity with is the original Wailing Death campaign. This is the story millions of players will have experienced, in which the Hero of Neverwinter starts out at the Academy and goes on to save the city of Neverwinter and defeat the evil plans of the Old One, Morag. (They are never referred to as such during the campaign, but the Old Ones are in fact sarrukhs - an ancient reptilian race whose empires spanned the Realms many, many thousands of years ago.)

Elder Scrolls IV AI Had To Be Dumbed Down To Save The Game - Cracked
Gamers usually clown on the AI from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion because the NPCs act in a rather dumb way, one that seems to go well beyond the bewilderment we'd expect from uneducated peasants living in a fictional medieval world where all religions have real deities behind them. These NPCs aren't dumb in the regular NPC-dumb kind of way, either– it's almost as if they're being dumb in a cleverly thought-out manner. Turns out that this isn't because they're poorly coded, but because they were coded so well at some point that the devs had to perform a worldwide lobotomy to prevent them from taking over the world.
Rogue Trader will explore the far reaches of the Warhammer 40K - Polygon
Developers of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, the first CRPG based on the wildly popular Games Workshop franchise, are digging into the back catalog for inspiration. Square Enix's Western studios a "train wreck in slow motion" - Gamesindustry
On May 2, 2022, Stephane D'Astous began receiving emails and phone calls from former employees. The shared tone was a request for advice and perspective: What's happening? Is it a good sign, or should we be worried?

These messages, of course, referred to the shock news that Square Enix had sold Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal, plus all the IP the trio of studios collectively held, to Embracer Group for a bewilderingly low $300 million.

Even though D'Astous was surprised by the price tag, the Eidos Montreal founder wasn't terribly surprised at how the studios' relationship with Square Enix turned out, saying the roots of its demise were evident even before he left the company in 2013.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake is Reportedly Indefinitely Delayed
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, which was announced to be in development by the Austin, Texas-based Aspyr Media last September, is indefinitely delayed according to a report from Jason Schreier at Bloomberg.
