Crimson Desert - Dragon's Dogma 2 meets The Witcher 3

Idk. It obviously takes a page from Dragon Dogma's playbook, but I'm not seeing much similarity to TW3. Maybe creature design?

I honestly can't see much from either game in Crimson Desert.

Dragon Dogma is party-based RPG where each character has a traditional Tank/Healer/DPS role to work in cohesion. The similarity must be that you kill monsters in action combat, which doesn't sound like an incredibly exclusive feature to have in a videogame.

As for the Witcher, I guess the similarity is in the brainless buttonmashing type of combat, but I can't see this game having emphasis on what The Witcher 3 is about - its worldbuilding and storytelling.

I guess the article is just trying to find a quick way to give people an idea of what the game is about by using names of popular, successful games that most people have played or at least know about, which is fair enough, but might as well say that the game is "Assassin's Creed meets Elden Ring" and it'd be just as incorrect and meaningless.

WTH is the obviously non-game-player Chatty Cathy video narrator girl is chirping about?? This Desert is devoid of Hype Points, just like Sahara is of water.
The game that gave me Hype Feelings: Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era.

Exactly all I know is it's not the same game they advertised last year.

It's a silly statement when we don't even know what the game will exactly be. The combat doesn't look like neither of them, and that's about all we saw.
I can understand the comparison to DD. For example, climbing up giant bosses and attacking them while perched on top. DD was the first thing I thought of when I saw that.

That bit reminded me of DD as well, but apart from that, the combat looks different. Saying it's a mix between those two games from that one feature seems to be an overgeneralization.

Oh I agree. I guess there could be worse games to compare it to though.

I really hope they make some changes to the UI before release. That's the one thing that stands out to me as something I definitely don't like.

The stamina meter in particular. I find it quite odd to have it floating in mid-air to the right of the PC like that.
I agree it's a little odd. Also, why put a fixed health bar and a floating stamina meter? A priori, both are as critical during combat.
