C2077 Cyberpunk 2077 - News Roundup

Cyberpunk 2077
I saw something similar and thought it was reserved for the endgame or a DLC, then I had the same message elsewhere too, for ex. when trying to leave the badlands, so I think it's just generic.
This one wasn't there when I played the game before though or at least least I don't think it was. I doubt I could have missed it with how thoroughly I explored the city.

I have the impression GameRant starts any article about CP2077 the same way, can't stop themselves mentioning how it started and so on. I'm not I would describe the Afterlife as a gritty gathering spot either but maybe it was like that in a pre-release version, who knows. That being said, the number of mods for this game is incredible!

I was trying to be humorous guess it failed. Still it should release sometime this year.

Though given the slow rollout of updates I'd personally say a delay is possible.

Wow, so I was curious and decided to convert some of those numbers to US dollars from the Polish currency. So according to the graph (which I expanded up to a full screen image on the twitter link) the Witcher 3 sales hit around 500 million Polish money during a couple years when it was released, with other sales numbers dipping below that number quite a bit for the following years. But its a little unclear how high they got in Polish money because its hard to interpret those slashes on the graph for the exact other values.

Anyway, 500 million Polish zlotny is clear, so it means Witcher 3 made at least around $115 million
US dollars for a couple years, each year.

But then Cyberpunk 2077 blew that number away when it was released, almost reaching to a whopping 1500 million Polish Zlotych for the 2020 sales, before dropping down to near 500 million Polish Zlotych for the next two years. But 1500 million Polish Zlotych is around $347 million US dollars..that is quite a lot of moolah! Updated: it looks like they said "Revenue" so this might be their profit,
not the total sales. Very impressive. Updated again: lol - sorry, excuse my business terms ignorance, apparently "revenue" means total sales, not pure profit.

Without knowing what it cost them, it doesn't mean much. For example, I think it took 3.5 years to develop TW3 against 8-9 for CP2077, and the team sizes were not the same. EDIT: I see ~250 vs ~530 but those are not average values.

But the gap is indeed impressive, they made a little more with CP2077 in 3 years than TW3 in 8 years. Their scale is very odd (in 3rd of 500s...?) so it's a very rough estimation.

Better article instead of just the graph.
The Polish company reported a revenue of 953 million PLN ($222 million USD) in 2022, up from 888 million PLN ($207 million USD) the previous year, and a net profit of 347 million PLN ($81 million USD), up from 209 million PLN ($49 million USD) in 2021. Despite the upwards trend, CDPR hasn't managed to hit the same level of success it saw in 2020, when Cyberpunk 2077's release caused a massive revenue spike that took its yearly profit to a massive 1.15 billion PLN ($268 million USD).
