As someone who sends in links the written articles are declining and the videos are were I get my news. Just check my thread the written articles are not front-page worthy.

I am fine with either, depending on the mood. Having audio is great when I'm busy doing some work around the house, cooking, doing exercise or whatever, I usually put my wireless headphones on and enjoy the content without occupying my hands and eyes. Doing chores becomes much more amenable that way.

On the topic itself, yeah, Blizzard is a bit of a dead horse everyone loves to beat on, kind of getting old, really. To comment on my own take - I loved the game at launch, it's been disaster after disaster since. Hard to think myself coming back to it at any point in the future. I tried the Season of Blood for an hour or so before I gave up, partially because I'm enjoying Lords of the Fallen I suppose, but there was nothing for me to come back to regardless.

One of my biggest disappointments these days is going to websites looking for something to read and finding links to youtube.
It's easier to monetize YouTube videos. It's also easier to set up a camera/microphone and just talk as opposed to typing out a longish article.

Besides the main campaign which was honestly surprisingly good, especially compared to D3 which sucked ass, the other nice part about D4 is playing it while listing to podcasts or anything else you want to have playing in the background.
It's a nice distraction while you do something else mentally. And I could never just sit still and only listen to these. It would feel like too much of a waste of time, most of the time. This way, melding two waste-of-time activities, it sort of feels like they cancel each other out. :D

Just when I thought I found a solid barbarian build that can handle hardcore, I died at level 25. I was going Upheaval + 4 completely defensive skills (3 shouts + iron skin), all of them speced to give life, healing, etc.
And it was going fairly well, had very few close calls. Then I accidentally stood in a flash freeze, that froze me in place. And a few Oppressors took me out. Intense. :(

I looked at the front page, and out of 32 news, 17 were only video, including a few trailers. So it seems easy enough to find material to read. :)

I'm fine with both, too.

Videos have the advantage of illustrating the point with gameplay footage, so it's quite appropriate for video games. On the other hand, they tend not to be as well presented as articles because it's too easy to show unrelated footage or to speak one's mind without preparing a text first. Mortismal is a good example, though the last video I watched (I think about CP2077 2.0) was an improvement.

Written articles aren't always (often?) very well written either. Many self-proclaimed editors have an odd understanding of grammar and punctuation, let alone style. But from my observation, having to write something makes the author think a little about a plan and how to execute it. It's easier to correct than videos, too.

That video is so close to the reality that it hurts.

Some theory-crafting and number-crunching to maximize performance is expected in this type of game but some of those item boni are ridiculous. There are even some weird situational and sub-situational overlaps like "damage vs stunned" and "damage vs crowd controlled" that they definitely added just to increase exponentially the difficulty of getting a "perfect item" and artificially extend the game's life.
