Well known actor Donald Sutherland has passed away at 88.
NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Sutherland, the Canadian actor whose wry, arrestingly off-kilter screen presence spanned more than half a century of films from “M.A.S.H.” to “The Hunger Games,” has died. He was 88.Sutherland died Thursday in Miami after a long illness, according to a statement from Creative Artists Agency, which represented him.Kiefer Sutherland said on X he believed his father was one of the most important actors in the history of film: “Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that.”The tall and gaunt Sutherland, who flashed a grin that could be sweet or diabolical, was known for offbeat characters like Hawkeye Pierce in Robert Altman’s “M.A.S.H.,” the hippie tank commander in “Kelly’s Heroes” and the stoned professor in “Animal House.”

Sad news. I was channel surfing just a few nights ago and came across that Western he was in with Kiefer. I remember him the most for Space Cowboys.

Or game!!!!!!

Did you ever play the adventure game K.G.B? That really was a great game, I will have to play it again. A unique setting for an adventure game with good use of FMV.

First movie I liked him in was Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I know the TV series was better but the movie was still a fun summer flick when I was younger.

Buffy would be an interesting property from which to make a game.

I loved watching his psychotic arsonist character from both Back-draft movies.

Also yeah I remember watching that Buffy movie in the 90's as well.

My favorite thing he did was Castle of the Living Dead where he played multiple roles including a fantastic witch! He made this with his friend Warren Kiefer... who's name Don gave to his son.

Very good movies he also was in:

Don't look now (1973) An oddly creepy and unique horror movie, I still remember how it really freaked me out watching it as a kid.

Invasion of the body snatchers (1978) the classic science fiction film, that was a remake of another one.

JFK (1991) Sutherland later often played in movies as mysterious figures who were like part of huge shadowy conspiracies, this was one of them.

Then more recently, he was known for being one of the stars who played in The blockbuster Hunger Games movies. (2012-2015)

Other huge stars who were of the same era, who are still living:

Clint Eastwood - Still living at a remarkable 94 years old. Probably the biggest old time Hollywood star still living.

Gene Hackman - also 94, played in tons of movies, also in "Unforgiven" a famous later western with Eastwood. One of my favorite, and not as well known movies by him is Heist (2001), a great movie about a jewel thief.

Morgan Freeman - 87 years old, another huge star that has been in tons of huge movies. Perhaps his biggest and most famous one is "The Shawshank Redemption", which has been ranked as the number one movie on IMDB for a long time.
