Drova: Forsaken Kin from publisher Deck13 and developer Just2D has gotten its final major content update today in Patch 1.3 "The Flesh Rises" bringing in new lategame content and more.

This update, currently delayed on Nintendo Switch, sees the team address some player feedback for lategame content and also bring in chapter 3 changes, a new dungeon, Red Moor Caves, balance changes, and much more. The team also confirmed that it will now be focusing on its next project aside from any bugfixes required in Drova. More details on the next project are yet to be revealed.

I've said it before but this is a really solid Gothic-lite RPG, especially at what is a pretty reasonable price. If you like the look of it and know what you're getting into, it's hard to imagine not enjoying this.

I just picked it up. Not sure how much I will enjoy the combat but everything else looks great.
Well, it isn't super easy to get into; it is a bit janky like Gothic, but stick with it. And imo, spears are the way to go. Being able to attack from distance and dodge away becomes pretty powerful.

Thanks for the advice on spears. I always like to use spears and polearms in games. Going to use a pike next time I play KCD2.

I went with sword and shield and it was pretty fun and effective enough ;-)

Concerning the update, I'm not the sort of player who like to replay a game twice (even if in this case, there are two clear different paths), so in this case, it frustrates me a little that I have not waited for this update to start the game!

Well i finished it twice, once for each faction but will do a 3rd play in the future when they completely done with it.
I played alot with spear as well, spear+poison=OP, poison doesnt do dmg but slows enemies and there are some enemis so fast you dont even know what happened before youre killed. But as expected, polearms suck with groups as you hit just forward. Good thing is you can use shields with spear and there are nice perks, like perfect block=next hit is crit. Near the end got a legendary 2h axe and just sweept the map with it :D.

Yea I'm glad I waited, I knew they were cooking this and decided to hold off. I'm actually doing the same thing with KCD2 because they're releasing a bunch of DLC + content throughout the year, so I marked it as "Early Access" in my backlog sheet because it isn't finished, in my book. 😜
