ELEX - Gamescom Gameplay

I like the look of exploration using the jet pack. Looks pretty smooth. Combat is still a bit rough, but it might feel better than it looks. As it's PB game, it's bound to be at least somewhat quirky.

The game looks better than ever. Great job piranha bytes. I can hardly wait to be able to explore that massive handcrafted gameworld. :)

Did anyone else notice that Jenny and Bjon (right?) from THQ (rotfl) have the same haircut as ingame characters! Is this game about them?

Please watch at least the first minute of video.

I think it's looking good, except for that combat. I really wish they would invest some of that grant money in a combat animation specialist.

If they change combat it won't be PB game any more but just another forgettable AAA crap!

I have noticed this before on other videos as well. This game is very 'personal' to Bjorn and Jenny!

My keyboard doesn't even have some of these letters.

Gameplay looks rough, almost two decades behind, no way of going around it.
Graphically not that bad, decent lighting, but the world doesn't "sell itself" as convincing...their 'niche' was always more in down to earth, realism: this looks like 'let's throw every cool idea in the pot'.
Empathy vs. "Inhuman" ( is that what they're going for?) seems interesting concept ( in this type of game), but characterization/dialogue was never one of their strengths...writing and presentation would have to be drastically better, or it will end up more comical.

My keyboard doesn't even have some of these letters.

Neither does mine, but thanks to windows and AltGr I can add anything on base letters. Quick example: o, ô, ó, ő, ö

I wonder if mushrooms can do something like this. I mean… How?! How do those people even communicate with each other?
Press Y for yes, X for no I guess? What do A and B mean then? Maybe and maybe not?
And why am I suddenly thinking about FO4?

And the most used word in the video was... 'ja'. Ja. Ja. Is he incapable of a single sentense without a 'ja'?

That makes no sense whatsoever. If nothing else about the game changes except the combat, how would that one change alone make it forgettable.

His English is pretty good as a 2nd language. Maybe you could cut him a little slack, Ja?

Bizarrely I've met plenty of Europeans that have self taught themselves english and "Ja" is one word they can't drop. Even though they KNOW the difference.

There's always the mute option so you can watch the relevant video without OCD'ing about ja.
