Farflame spotted a Mountaintroll on World of Elex:

The Mountaintroll doesn't seem to be very intelligent but that's a fallacy. He mostly lives in caves or stony areas where he has his lair. His tough scaled skin makes him almost invincible.

... so ELEX is supposed to be a sci-fi RPG, set in an original world? Riiiiight.....

Looks sort of like those big demons from Dragon Age. New planet, new setting, they could go with more creative monster design.

In the first picture it does not look very monstrous.
When focussing on the eyes it clearly says: "Please, help me. I'm in such pain. Get me out of this costume with these disproportionate arms".

In a setting like this where somehow everything seems to be innovative and strange I think it's the right design decision to have classical monsters.
