IndianNoob joins the bandwagon of those not liking Fallout 76 with a review and a score of just 2 out of 5 stars.

Fallout 76 stumbles on its feet and falls flat as both a Fallout game and a multiplayer survival RPG. The game is a technical mess with bland quests, disappointing open world, underwhelming survival mechanics and brain-dead AI. It should have been an early access title, or at the very least, should have spent another 6 months in the polishing room. There are lots of things to spend that hard-earned $60 in right now and Fallout 76 isn't one of them.

More information.

Yeah, that pretty much mirrors my impression of the game. I will give Bethesda credit for one thing - they processed my request for a refund fairly quickly.

Two more articles that might interest anyone.

Can Bethesda redeem Fallout 76?
After recording a podcast about how it's such an exciting time for Pok?mon fans with Let's Go, you can't quite say the same for those looking forward to Fallout 76, the online spin-off in Bethesda's role-playing series.

Unfortunately, after playing both the beta and the full release, it ranges from middling to being a bizarre, boring, broken mess as described in our Fallout 76 review.
Finding Fallout 76?s Core Audience
Despite what you?ll hear, the initial reaction to Fallout 76 wasn?t immediate anger.

Instead, there was a mixed response geared more towards skepticism at just how the game would work. It?s always online and seems to have survival elements (but don?t call it a survival title, insists Bethesda). Is it like Rust? Well, it?s very heavily focused on co-operation and you kind of exist within the world as your own entity, helping travelers along the way. So was it a shared world experience like Destiny?

I can?t help but think at this point: Who would enjoy Fallout 76? This isn?t an indictment on people who like the game. Heck, if you just like playing games, alone or with your friends, then that?s great. It?s just an honest question ? who is meant to enjoy Fallout 76? Which audience is it for?
Ignore the ?'s that's due to a site bug when quoting.

Now all of a sudden broken games and bad design choices get criticized.
Bethesda has been doing that stuff ever since Oblivion -at least- and has known critical and commercial success.
About time i say.

It's for Fallout 4 players who wished their friends could play too. Turns out it's not as fun as they thought it would be?

This, at least for me.

I?ve played 500+ hours of skyrim and didn?t encounter all the bugs I heard many complain about but I never played even 1 minute of skyrim without mods.

Well, if they were attempting to make an online successor to Fallout Four, that would explain a great a lot about what went wrong with this project. I would have styled it after Fallouts one or two, perhaps even New Vegas, but Fallout Four simply wasn't very good, in my opinion. Hopefully not only will Bethesda learn from this, but other companies observing from the sidelines might want to note a thing or two.

Still not sure if people are playing the game I'm playing.

It has issues, definitely, but they're being fixed.

It's one of the best coop games on the market today.

That said, I like content a lot more than the repetitive grind of most multiplayer games - so that might be a factor.

For people looking for polished and slick grinding like Destiny or Warframe, it might be a step backwards. For people who prefer hollow sandboxes with zero content (Rust and the like) - it might also be a step backwards.

Personally, I'd probably rate it 6.5/10 in its current state - but that's because I'm reasonably objective.

Subjectively, it's closer to 7.5/10 - and I'm expecting it to improve. With the 11/12 patch - assuming it does what it says it does - I think 8/10 will be more appropriate.
