Fallout London - First Impressions

Well what can I say since I hate writing paragraphs of text. Lets see this is what Fallout should be and Bethesda should be taking notes. Though it needs some patching.

As I've been stuck in a few buildings with no way out, and like the original has CTD's.

Though a few mods will fix that and I'm surprised the team didn't add them. 🤷‍♂️

GOG seem to be marketing this mod as "Good for the GOG version of FO4". I have it on Steam, and I really don't mind to buy another copy of the game in another gaming platform. And I really wanna give this mod a chance. (Yes, I know the mod also works on Steam version but then we have to de-update the game etc, too much shenaningans, pain in the ass etc).

What I don't want and won't do is to buy another copy of FO4 at a price that's well above its all-time low. The current discounted price on the GOG platform (at least here in Brazil) is simply the double of the historical low. GOG, cut it a little more!

Yeah but see you can't blame the team as no one else would host a 40GB mod.

Also it's not compatible with the Next-Gen version thanks to Bethesda.

The GOG version hasn't been updated for the creation club content either.

Yep Beth pushed useless patches to add CC support and change the version number.

See Couch, I'm not blaming them for taking the initiative to host the mod; on the contrary, I commend them for doing that.
Nor do I blame them for advertising it as being "GOG-friendly" in terms of which version of FO4 the players should use. Of course they shall advertise their own platform, it's a legimitate thing.
I'm only questioning the current price of FO4 in their platform. I wouldn't mind having another copy of the game, as long as its price was a little more inviting.
I don't know if I made myself clear the first time, and again I may blame a possible incorrect use of English grammar. I hope I have now fixed this :)

Well you could wait for the eventual Next-Gen version.

No ETA on that release though.

That as well though I'm surprised they didn't give the game away for a few days.

Would have been even better publicity.

Piece of cake... Right. I'll definitely wait a little in the hope they find a more practical solution.
I never seen mods like this not have problems. Even Enderal for Skyrim.

Anyway there are a few sites were you can download the whole game with the mod.

The GOG version is the easiest way though. 🤷‍♂️

I have the Steam version, and I'm not going to buy it again just for a mod. Having to downgrade because of Bethesda's ridiculous update is the main problem, apparently. Maybe someone will find a way around it (and hopefully Bethesda won't do another silly update when it happens).

I wouldn't buy the game again either. The mod looks good but not a must-play to me. Hopefully it won't take them too long to update it.

And yeah, the update was a joke. All the PR it received, and it barely fixed anything.

Yet here I am with the GOG version and had no problem installing, and have played it for two days now. So yeah doesn't help Steam owners but it's not the mods fault.

Correction it's a full conversion mod and a bit bigger then the regular Bethsedsa mods. Anyway if only it was easy for non-gog users l, but sad to say it's not.

As the Steam version requires extra steps just to play not install.

Also there is no mod manager version only a GOG installer.

You zip up the data folder. Apply it to your Steam install after rolling back to the prior version.

Gog allows you to download FOLON without owning FO4 on the platform. If you're on fence because you don't want to "buy a second copy of FO4", then you're merely on the fence for the sake of convenience (and hardly much at that if you have prior experience with modding any Bethesda title).

Anyway what's holding the mod back is the F4SE mod. As it's still not updated for the Next-Gen version due to Beth patching the newer version once already.
