I thought the same, but apparently it was despite the title making it sound like it was going to take place in New Mexico, the state. It wasn't going to take place in Mexico.
Very few of these larger total conversion mods ever seem to get finished.
Then apparently even some gaming journalists were thinking the same.I thought the same, but apparently it was despite the title making it sound like it was going to take place in New Mexico, the state.
an ambitious Fallout: New Vegas mod that promised to turn players loose amidst the irradiated wasteland of New Mexico just five years after the events of the original Fallout, has been cancelled.
Can't know for certain, but my take after reading the article isn't that he thought it was the state, but rather he was just saying "New Mexico", as in like, "New Vegas" or "New California". The article even talks about Mexico City being the main setting. Then apparently even some gaming journalists were thinking the same.

I edited it into my post later, but the article even mentions that the main setting is Mexico City later. So it's pretty likely that's what he meant.Considering it's literally the same name, I highly doubt that's what he meant. He'd have to be a pretty terrible journalist to not make that distinction.
