A new open playtest was opened yesterday. it involves single hero mode, which is simply games commanding one single hero. You can't hire extra heroes and if your hero die it is game over. This is a mode intended mainly for the multiplayer, with the purpose of games to be faster and rely heavily on movement spells like fly, dimension door or town portal.

The playtest is purely multiplayer and all people already selected for the initial arena mode playtest are automatically in (more people is being added too).

Meh...that just killed my interest in it. When are they going to let us taste the single-player gameplay?

Nod, no interest in multiplayer here, yet keen on reading what folks here might think if anyone tries it.

I think for public play it will probably be only when reaching EA since they are very interesting in testing the network capacity and code.

But I might be wrong and include some other phases of testing allowing single player. I will keep you posted.

Why are they wasting money on cgi trailer for such a game ... And trailers that don't even look that good.

Yeah they've always said Q2 for EA and then about one year for release so it will be some time still.

The artstyle doesn't help either, some parts with quick motion look like low-res video because of it.
