It does if you quote it.
It has also been reported a few times already (for this and other characters) but I am too lazy to really find a fix.

The reports are in the forum bug thread that is meant to be used for this kind of stuff.

Please take a look whether you accidentally changed your keyboard layout ?

Related to this, I noticed something different. When I type the ' character (single quote) from my desktop browser, it looks ok. But when I do the same thing from firefox on ios it turns into a weird character or combination of characters. I didn't spend enough time to investigate the issue, but found it weird, and it's happening consistently.

Myrthos already knows about these errors as he said above. They have been happening since the server move. He's can't fix the problem so we have to deal with it.
