Jordan Weisman's Sea of Legends

Kickstarter is live. Open world deckbuilding RPG; "Become a pirate on the open waters of the Caribbean. Plunder ships, sack towns, fight the undead, and maybe break a few hearts."

I'm not really a fan of deckbuilding mechanics in RPGs, so I probably won't back it.

Sounds cool for people who like deck-builders, but most of what they're showing there is apparently just concept art?

I like deck builders, I like the pirate theme, and I like Jordan Weissman, based on his tabletop RPG history and the Battletech and Shadowrun computer games. So I'll probably give this a shot, though I'm not particularly excited by it.

Well, only about $3,000 to go with 10 days left so it will certainly be funded, but it is not a huge success either.

Only aspect of the game I still don't like is the card mechanics.

Also Weisman is getting old, but then again so am I.

Nod, I'm no fan of cards in games meself yet if the story is strong and other aspects work for me, I can tolerate cards.
