I really enjoyed the game, though it did start getting repetitive for me near the end. With the dearth of games coming out over the next year or two, I can't see myself going back. It was a one-shot deal.

Yeah, enjoyed it but it grew a bit repetitive for me as well.
Did you both stick with the same characters throughout the game ?
I kept it varied by changing my team composition every few missions.

I also made it so items had to be kept by individual party members unless they were being upgraded, so in essence I wasn't switching items around every mission.

Made the people/items more interesting and also less micromanagement.

I had a couple that I'd rotate in, based on injury, but overall I played with the same 6-7. When the 3rd act involved enemies that were basically just damage sponges (forget their name) with ridiculous hit points, the game became less about strategy and more overall damage. I just thought that was a poor design decision by the developers.

I enjoyed this game... I will get the expansion I think...
I always find the turn based tactical games where initiative is a group thing, that it can become too easy.
Where initiative is based upon the characters there is less chance to demolish / smash the opponent in the first round.
But I loved the feel / atmosphere of this game!

So how can the enemy be Romans based on the teaser trailer? As historically the Romans abandoned Britain by the time of King Arthur. Maximus took the legion to be emperor.

It is a game about Dark Sidhe and Undead, so I'm sure they can play around with the timeline too ;)

The player may have to fight a ghost Roman army. Unless Arthur made a trip to the Middle East. ;)
