6. Horse improvement. Pebble gets better
Is Pebbles Henry's "official" horse? Or is it an inside joke?
I personally spent all my savings and just bought Al-Buraq, one of the arabian horses, and probably never got Pebbles?
13. Cryengine
I assume this means an upgraded Cryengine?
Btw, is Crytek still developing the engine? I just realized I haven't heard of anything from them in a long while.
14 Easier to save progress (schnaps is easier to acquire)
Oh no. Mods again. :(
15. Avoiding buggy launch
Here's hoping the 4 weeks early release of review copies is a good sign of this.

Thank you thank you thank you @vanedor for the written version!!

So does #10 mean this game can be played without melee combat? I can't stand melee combat, and always play a ranged or magic user, so the first game was unplayable for me. I tried, and being an archer was just PAINFUL.

Since they're introducing crossbows and if the game will indeed be historically accurate from that point of view, it should be feasible to play only with crossbows.
At least historically I know crossbows were extremely overpowered since even the lowly peasant could fairly easily kill a knight with a minimum of training; at least compared to a bow.
It will be interesting to see if they will make it like that.

Uh no.

Given the time it takes to reload a crossbow, you couldn't realistically use just the crossbow in a game like KCD where you often have 3 or 4 vs 1 fights in a relatively tight space.

Yeah, clearly, archery in the first game was more a tool to hunt rabbits than to fight in most combat. From what I read / hear, I doubt it's going to change much in the second game. Personally, I enjoyed it but I understand why you would not.

Why do you presume that the game will be completely realistic in terms of how long it takes to reload a crossbow, but as far as plenty of other mechanics it is far from realistic. There's plenty of things in KCD1 that are not realistic at all, so why would they be compelled to one extreme.
It could very well be that the reload times will be acceptable, and they might even include different versions of crossbows, some with different reloading mechanisms that are faster than others.
If they want to they could implement a whole range of types of crossbows, for all sorts of situations.

They could even allow you to use your crossbow and then quickly pull out a pistol or something when the enemy is close. It could be interesting.

Well, you wrote yourself "if the game will indeed be historically accurate".

Anyhow, given how hardcore they are about the gameplay, I doubt they would change that. But yes, we saw from the videos that they plan to have three type of crossbows. That doesn't mean that any of them can be reloaded while running around dodging attacks like you typically do in a Fantasy games.

Biggest difference to me is the bloated system requirements.:rotfl:

Anyways thanks for the summary but it's always laughable to read complaints about not watching a video. Wont say I'm sorry though as that's the news I find and submit. 🤷‍♂️

The system requirements for KCD 1 were also quite high when it was released. I don't see this as being much different. We're going to need a beefy rig if we want all the bells & whistles.

You aren't to blame because lot of websites switched to a video format.

But personally, I don't bother watching a video unless it is about a game I am very interested in and it is concise enough, and I'm glad whenever someone do a written summary :)

It's great to have another person making summaries for people who prefer to not watch the video but still want to know what it is talking about. I think most people prefer video but there are a few of us who still prefer the written word!

The videos come with auto written transcripts most of time. Gaming-bolt sometimes has written article but not with every video. Most news is in video format nowadays. 🤷‍♂️

I'm not sure about that.

I suspect it's more about the fact that videos are easier to monetize.
Perhaps. Most of people from 15-25 seem to love their videos though. Whenever I get a bus or train i just see them endlessly scrolling through shorts/reels/tiktoks etc.
