15% discount at GMG if you're thinking about buying now.

Damn, unfortunately I pre-ordered the Gold edition... But it looks like GMG is "out of stock of the gold edition anyway (not sure how that can happen with a digital download but whatever). The pre-order questline better be good!

This is definitely the most I've spent on a game in quite some time but I'm sure it will give me many hours of enjoyment.

So I've just played the intro and a bit more, and I'm already loving it.
I know it's too early to tell, but I played DA:V and Dragon's Dogma 2 just before and it's just such a difference (for the better).
I can't wait to explore the beautiful looking world and do stuff as just a (mostly) regular guy, NOT being the chosen one trying to save the universe.

Quite ironic, I remember that one slogan for the prequel was: "Dungeons, no Dragons". And now I'm playing it after two very meiocre games with a heavy focus on dragons. ;)

Right, not a high very bar, but also a very high difference.

But as I've said it's too early to tell.

Reading some opinions, the game does not appear to be as buggy as the previous one at launch. Is this so?

I haven't encountered any so far. But the intro/tutorial was railroaded and I guess well tested, so it's hardly a predictor for the actual game.

I actually saw a commercial for KCD2 on TV today. That's pretty impressive for a game like this from a smaller studio. I still think the main character looks like a dork. ;)

I've played half a dozen hours, so I barely started, and I can already says it's better than the first. performance is good, but I have a new system, so I can't vouch for everyone. But I'm playing it smoothly @3840x1600, without the DLSS.

It's certainly less buggy than the first one at launch, but it has some bugs, but nothing serious so far (a NPC got stuck between me and the NPC I was in dialogue with; another bug was the caravan, I asked to stop to let me join. After joining, they just kept stopped. I've exited and went away and the caravan ramained there, stopped).

The sense of a living world is great.

How is the combat? I enjoyed the 1st for about 54 hours, but the combat was just so long and tedious (and yes, I was not that great at it), that its sapped my will to continue, I even made a effort to get better by training with that arms master, and did Ok in those fights. But I became impatient because combat seemed to be this relentless slog. I enjoyed the story and atmosphere a lot though.

The combat is a little easier than in the first one. I think it's just so slightly slower (fractions of a second, but it makes easier to get the moments to defend/parry and riposte). Now you just have to worry with left/right/up/stab, no lower left and lower right, I felt it more intuitive and easy.

Since I'm just in the beggining, Henry has poor stats, but I'm finding the fights to be quicker (even agains't bandits with armor). I haven't fought someone with full plate armor (but i carry an axe for those, changing to a mace as soon as I find one). Agains't shields takes longer and it's very difficult if you're agains't more than two adversaries.

It's still different from what people are used to in other games of the genre, so there will be still complaints that it's difficult or feels a little bit cluncky.

The only thing I felt a little bit odd, is that every peasant knows and uses weapon stances. I think that's a little bit unrealistic, but nothing that really bothers.

Congratulations to all RPG gamers for having developers brave enough to create RPG video games like KCD1/2.
A big thank you to Warhorse for having the vision and capability to go through with this and deliver.
