Just curious : What is the "braindance" you refer to? I'm playing the french version (very well done) so perhaps they just call it differently in the English version.

Those are the sequences when you're experiencing someone else's memories and can pause and rewind them to look for clues. You only get to do it 3 or 4 times and only in the main questline iirc.

Ah yes. I thought they were interesting and pretty well done. * shrug *

I finally finished G2:NOTR. 7/10. Huge amount of content, good story, world and characters. Combat sucked big time! I know PB games always get criticized for this but I never had THIS much of a problem before. My approach to RPGs and this games design were at odds. I always have a clear vision of who my character is and how they want to handle situations. The fantasy is that I can be the person I want to be, AND be successful. G2 doesn't really let you do that. It doesn't conform to modern gameplay standards, and that can be very frustrating. Examples: I'm a melee specialist that can't tank mobs with the best armor available, clearing the map is tedious and results in empty Chapters 3 & 5, Dragons can only be defeated by cheesing them. So, let me make this clear, I'm not saying G2 is a bad game, just that for me the combat was the worst in any PB game and since combat is my least favorite part of any game, that really impacted my enjoyment.

ELEX: Not really a fan of the setting, but it grew on me. Loved the Piranha Bytes experience. Elex 2 will have to wait though. Maybe I'll catch up with Risen before that.

Firewatch: My first walking simulator? Really liked it. Different experience from the games I usually play.

Dungeons of Dreadrock: 2D puzzle dungeon crawler inspired by Legend of Grimrock. Focus on puzzles. Good, quick fun.

I finished replaying Final Fantasy five yesterday, the third time I've replayed this excellent game in the past twenty years or so. Still fantastic, light on the overall story yet the combat mechanics are solid, and the gave overall is fairly tough. I played around with classes more than I usually tend to do, even dipped into a few mage-types just to push the limits. There are a few combinations that seem vastly overpowered (like the summoner with dual-cast, put that in a group of mimics and the game is basically broken-p), and some that are really weak (poor thieves). A great game and one I know I'll be revisiting again some years down the line!

I finally finished Pathfinder: Kingmaker last week, played on "Challenging" with almost entirely on turn-based mode except for easy trash encounters. I got the "secret" ending, aka the true ending.. which I had to refer to a guide for as it's easy to mess up something.. in fact had to replay some areas as I didn't refer to the guide enough. Was a very fitting ending for my character who was a Paladin of Saranae, goddess of Redemption. All in all a very satisfying ending.

The game was mostly enjoyable though I found the late game areas grew very tedious at times with the mobs of annoying enemies they throw at you. And an annoying warp maze in the final area which feels entirely too random and made me resort to looking at videos to see where to go.

Considering the game's length I don't know if I'll ever be motivated to play through it again. Would like to see the outcomes of the different romance options but will probably just find youtube videos. The Kingdom management wasn't good, but I think with a few tweaks it could've actually been enjoyable.

I won the Steam key on one of the raffles here a few years ago, forget who donated it but thanks for the fun game.

I think it will be difficult to find someone who enjoyed HATEOT lol

You can always send the suggestion via in-game reporting tool - just tick the suggestion box instead of "normal" and "critical".

Alternatively, you can PM it to me and I can pass it on to dev team if you wish.

If you saved before a specific encounter, you can see a few other endings with replaying just a fight.

The dialogues when you meet the Lantern King offer a few different outcomes, obviously it's narrative only since the game ends there, but it's fun to see. So if you saved before meeting him, you can restart from there. But it doesn't offer a lot more than watching videos about the endings I guess.

There are other outcomes that require earlier changes, I haven't tried but Purpleblob and likely a few others here did.

Yeah, HatEoT is too much. The the kingdom management is nice but should not block the main quest for so long in the middle chapters (unless I did something wrong). I also found that the punishments for failing events were too harsh on normal difficulty; especially given they're not really avoidable.

Outer Worlds. Failed to reach it's potential. It's like a Mass Effect with everything scaled back. The satire could have made it special but it just isn't funny enough. It's a pity Avellone was gone when they did this, I think his input would have made a significant difference. DLCs are good length and worth getting.

Wow, you think they'd consider updating it at this point? If figured they were done patching Kingmaker by now.

I doubt they will change Kingmaker management at this point but they will consider feedback for the future game. Management portion was criticised in both Kingmaker and WotR so I'm sure they are keen on collecting more feedback.

If they do any more city building / management, one improvement would be to allow rotation of buildings that occupy more than one square. Since so many buildings gave a bonus for being adjacent to other buildings, it seems like a huge oversight.

For projects & events I would've liked if there were fewer of them (it got a bit overwhelming and many of them repeated). Instead, I would've liked to see more of those that were tied to sidequests. Like the one project that unlocked the quest about the Druids vs. the Miners. While it makes sense that a King isn't going to personally solve every problem in their realm, it just wasn't very fun to have it all decided by a roll.

After taking a break for about a month, I returned to Telepath Tactics: Liberated a little over a week ago, and wrapped it up today. Overall I enjoyed this version much more than the original release, most of that due to actually being able to complete the game this time, where before there was one fight that would simply crash about halfway through, every time.

It's deep, hard, and has a solid story. Some of the early maps are quick, yet as you get further into the game, later maps can easily take hours to get through. Your opposition is smart, should you leave a weak character undefended or simply provide an opportunity for your enemies to exploit, they'll likely do so anytime the option is there. Even if you played the original I'd suggest giving this one a try, as it's longer and richer by all measures.

I finished off the first game of the Final Fantasy Legend series, and have some mixed thoughts on it. Overall I enjoyed much of the combat and story, yet two glaring issues made it not so fun in some ways: weapons that expire and a totally random magic system. The first would be dealt with easily if your inventory wasn't limited yet, sadly, in this game it is very much so. I doubt I'd ever replay this and right now I'm not so keen on the next game in the series, assuming the systems in place are similar.

The last game I finished was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords, with the Restored Content Mod. I had played the original infinitely when I was younger, but it was my first time going through the sequel. And my gosh.... I don't regret playing that game one bit.

At first, I wasn't originally sold on it. I think that the set-up was pretty interesting, but the opening was so incredibly slow and boring that I almost quit. I persevered through the first 4 hours, and right after leaving Peragus, the game got so, SO much better. I'll do a quick summary of what I thought was great about the game, and what I think wasn't so great.

I don't really judge a game by this, but the graphics look nice, if a bit outdated nowadays. It has a very distinct Star Wars vibe to it, which also brings me to the soundtrack, that while inferior to the original game's OST, still sounds majestic as ever and has that distinct vibe of the franchise to it. The RPG mechanics are as you would expect in a CRPG, and the battles do get quite easy after 2/3 of playing, but new improvements like more force powers, pretiege classes, and largely expanded lightsaber upgrade feature make the mechanics superior to the original game.

A large part of my enjoyment was in the game's story. I don't think I've ever experienced anything in the Star Wars franchise that ever attempted to do a story that wasn't black and white in nature. I have issues with it only really working in the light or neutral run, but what Obsidian did with the license is frankly refreshing and something every fan of the series has to experience. One character in particular, Kreia, is what makes the story the way it is, by having a Force user who uses and hates it, and acts as a sort of teacher for the protagonist that has a strikingly grey view on the dark and light side. I can't really say too much without spoiling anything, because KotOR 2 is a very, very layered game and it is hard to summarize its plot without going on about the game.

Sadly, even with the Restored COntent Mod, the game isn't finished, and there is quite clearly a lot of stuff that wasn't fully realized, and the bugs don't help much later. But, not looking at what's not there and seeing what Obsidian attempted to do with as little time as possible... it's a miracle the game is as beloved as it is. I think it's one of the best games I played in the last few months, and I highly recommend it.

I finished Saturday Morning RPG, a light-hearted and really fun game, not very long yet a good time along the way. There are some quick time features in the game that I'm not a big fan of, yet they're not crucial for success and didn't ruin the game for me at all. It has a cartoony atmosphere about it, lots of variable attack/defence options, depending on how you want to develop the character. Thanks again to JDR for bequeathing a key to me!

After maaany years refinished the campaign of Warcraft 3, started really easy, humans were a piece of cake, undead pretty fun, orcs meh while the last one with night elves a pain in the ass in many moments because units sucked and missions were a bit more diverse and challenging. Wanted to start right after the expac Frozen Throne but really got in the mood for WOW and got a month lol to play classic.
Really loved the parts with the heroes, i think these scenes made me start playing rpgs back then in 2004; i remember then it was the beginning of dota and also there were dozens of missions just with heroes made from the community.

With Starfield release bumped, I plan on playing this later in the year. Is it worth a replay to do both light-side/dark-side?
