If you mean a mini-map on your HUD, no. You have to find maps of each area in the game and then you can access a map screen.
Yes, that's what I meant. Without a mini-map it seems like it could be easy to become disoriented unless you have an excellent sense of spacial geometry. At least when the same texture and wall/floor models are used over and over.

I don't think a mini-map would be ideal here. I like that he's going for immersion with the barebones HUD. It's easy enough to bring up the map screen via hotkey.

Or by exploring, meaning you look around where you are, instead of just running from quest to quest like you're a delivery boy in rush hour.

But I guess it's up to your playstyle. Funny i look to turn them off and some people look for on buttons.

Anyway, it reminds me of Arx fatalis, I think that's what it was called, really old game. Best game I ever got bundled with a graphics card, by far.

I suppose it depends on your play style. I find mini-maps to be quite useful for dungeon exploration and orientation, especially if you are running back and forth as in the video.

The areas I've seen so far weren't hard to navigate, but I get what you're saying. If this was a pure dungeon crawler, I might want a mini-map, but it's more of an immersive sim with both indoor and outdoor areas.
