As trailers go, that one is pretty brief and doesn't exactly sell me on the new edition.

None of the trailers have been good at showing why I should buy the game again.

Personally I have already bought the game twice, but I'm more worried about mods.

Will the old versions be compatible or will they all need updates?

I'll probably get it eventually, even if it's just to have it in a library - Steam or GOG.

Nothing so far is making want to grab it soon. I'll wait to see what people say about it.

They claim smoother camera controls and "polished" mechanics. Whatever that means.

It's also going to have cross-platform multiplayer.

The camera was a pain to control your party. It was fine in persistent worlds where you just controlled one character.

Hopefully there is some actual improvement because the trailer looked just like the last time I played NWN2 about five years ago...

I'm got it regardless. I want it on steam.
As far as how uncomunicative Aspyr has been, I hope it's a situation similar to the Soul Reaver 1/2 remastered versions they handled, where we heard very little about the improvements. Some not mentioned at all, like ultrawide resolution support.
So, it's that case, and not that the improvements are minimal. But we shall see.

I haven't replayed NWN2 since getting Steam Deck (which was early 2022, so ... ), so I will be grabbing it on Steam via pre-order regardless. (funny enough doing the 'NWN Enhanced Bundle' with NWN1 & 2 gets you an extra couple $ off even if you already have NWN1 as I do)
