All their future games will be launched on Steam.

It's good news. I don't have anything against Epic, but I definitely prefer Steam.

Still no pre-order box for PC (only xbox & PS) ... I will just assume that this game just doesn't exist for the PC platform ... simply because I see no physical release ...

Well it's better then only selling under one million copies the first month on Epic.

Guess the kickback isn't enough to cover very low sales.

Also @Alrik Fassbauer it releases in November on Steam.

Doubt there will be a physical boxed edition as they went fully digital.

I still don't understand exactly why people associate a physical release with being able to play their copy either offline or for game preservation. If that's what Alrik was thinking about when he mentioned wanting a physical release.
Just because it's on a disk there's no guarantee that there isn't dependency on a remote service (DRM or whatever else). And just because it's on a physical disk doesn't mean you have it forever. When the disk breaks or gets scratched or is otherwise unreadable you're in the same well.

GOG style purchases are the only way to fully achieve this. DRM free and being digital you can make as many copies as you want for yourself and store them on media that you can frequently check/backup and ensure you always have a readable copy.
The only thing in that case, that can stand between you and playing your copy is actual software incompatibility due to the software not being updated for modern systems. But for that maybe you're lucky and there's a community of dev/hackers keeping it working.
