What do you recommend for on line storage?

I require:
  • Capacity at least 1 TB
  • Transfer of large files (> 100 GB)
  • No daily transfer limit
  • Fast file transfer

Purpose:
  • External storage of backup files
  • Access to files when I'm not home

Sync is not necessary, prefer uploading files on my own initiative.
Family pack is a bonus but not required.

Yes. But if any of you have recommendations based on your own experience, I'd like to hear that.

I use Google Drive with the 2TB option. It's cheaper and has less restrictions than dropdox although I know there are some cheaper options out there. It's been good to me but it still 99 bucks a year which ain't cheap i guess.

I don't necessarily store large files unfortunately. Biggest ones would just be videos. My wife and I have a OneDrive account.

I am a bit sceptical concerning Google for privacy reasons.- But that is perhaps not an issue?

I keep reading security concerns and issues about Dropbox, so it's worth analysing before choosing that one. Also, it's based in the US so it's not ideal for privacy. I've read that the encryption key was stored on their server, which gives them (or a hacker) direct access to your data.

The only European solution I know is Proton, but it's limited to 500 GB.

I have no idea about privacy for Google Drive, I encrypt everything sensitive anyway. About security, I think there's a 2-factor authentication that is safer than the default one.
