Man they sure have been busy lately but I'm not surprised given past threads. So let's see they have DLC, five games in various stages, and even help publish games.

Interesting. So they're doing another sci-fi game. I was expecting them to go back to fantasy after Rogue Trader and the announcement of Dark Heresy.

Didn't listen to all of Mortismal's commentary, but I'd assume it's the action sci-fi RPG w/ Unreal engine. Seems like that project has been going on for a long time now. IIRC they said it will still be party-based, even though it's action.

I hope it's not another game like Mass Effect. Tbh, I'd rather it was just a single character if it's going to be action oriented.

I think that you will be disappointed. Afaik they said that it will have a party. Like their other RPGs - its just more cinematic and action oriented.

I expected W40k for this, again... but who knows if they are already doing W40k izo RPG.

I need more space operas, I'm re-reading https://destinysedge.com/, hope someone picks this universe to do a game like X-com, it would fit like a glove. The best sci-fi books I read for a loooong time. Better yet, tv series like the expanse.

P.S. - I don't know the autor, just fallen in love with the books, that's why I'm publicing it

There's a reference to osirisreborn.owlcat.games inside the HTML source of the teaser page - the link is currently not being shown, likely activated later. Probably the name of the game is Osiris Reborn. But not sure that tells us anything useful. And that website is currently password-protected.

Guess we'll know everything in about 12 hours anyway.

There was a ship Osiris in the Expanse TV Show. And it appears an Osiris Station in the books.

I don't think the expanse would translate to a good crpg experience.

I guess this is a good excuse to finally watch the tv series as well. I've had it in my backlog for a long time.
The gameplay bits look decent. I hope it's good.

Hell yeah! The books are amazing and the TV series is top notch. Somewhat surprised though as I am not sure this is the safest bet. Alcon must be putting up a decent chunk of the money.

Personally I loved the trailer and very excited but it is a trailer so of course need to know more.

As a fan of both the Expanse and Owlcat's previous work, I should be thrilled. And I am, somewhat. I mean it's certainly a great setting for a CRPG for sure, reminding me somewhat of the Buck Rogers SSI games.
But then, they seem to go the Mass Effect route instead, a series that I always fele took all the bad parts of KotOR and turned it into a shiny new thing for console players.
And look how that went for Bioware. While I will gladly let the "360 crowd" (RPS) have their new toy, I'm worried about Owlcat. This looks like a huge money sink, far beyond anything they've done before. Either this will work out great for them and business being business says they will start pumping out sequels of this (and no more TB isometrics). Or they will go bust and burn. Not seeing the happy third way there ATM.
