"Low sales" is relative. Them not selling as much as Bethesda doesn't automatically make it a "niche" game (not sure it was about Pathfinder or the CRPG subgenre in general).
It's obviously viable since they're still at it despite Russia being in tatters. I wouldn't worry too much.
But I see why they would want to change now and then, and not always produce games with the same setting. Besides, topping what they've already done with WotR might be difficult, they were clearly at the limit of what they could do. I'm still hoping they'll make another Pathfinder or at least something else than WH40k in the future though, because I don't think I'll buy that one.
