They finally updated Pentiment today. No explanation on Steam, Twitter or on the game website, but someone found a quiet Obsidian forum where they posted the changes (see below). It's a fat 3.6-GB download.

1.2 Patch Notes

• Added localizations for Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
• New Outer Farms area allowing you to find more of the character's homes.
• Optimized game resources which may result in a larger patch download size.
• Many bug fixes and improvements.

PC Only

• String Override support allowing users to change the text in the game and make localization mods.

Heads-up: There's apparently another blocking bug with the last update. Not that you'll have any choice to bypass it with Steam, but you can avoid it by not doing the action that freezes the game:

Game freezes when I click on Helena's name

There is a normal dialogue, someone calls the name of Helena. To understand who it is, I click on the name, and the game freezes at that moment. I hear the sound of the transition and continue to hear the music, I can move the mouse, but I can’t get out of this position and I restart the game. This was the second time this happened, the first time was when another name was mentioned (maybe it was Helena) and I also clicked on the name.
