The indie RPG Revenge of the Firstborn has been announced:

Revenge of the Firstborn announcement trailer

Revenge of the Firstborn is a story-rich, turn-based RPG, based on the classic 3.5 SRD ruleset. Discover the origin of the Firstborn and determine whether they pose a threat too great to be released or whether they are your path to power. Whatever path you chose, the world will never be the same.

Looks quite janky. :)
Otherwise the description looks good. I can't get enough of 3.5 TB combat.
And it has horses! That's new for an iso game, right?

However it seems to be a one-man project. It is very impressive what he has created, but I don't have high hopes.

On social media he said two weeks ago:
all features for Revenge of the Firstborn are complete. All spells, all monsters, all (non-unique) equipment. Onto the content creation-focused phase!
So apparently we're still years away from a release.

Wrath of the Righteous has mounted combat? Maybe you just meant 3.5 games, but Pathfinder is close enough...

He's said 2026, but wouldn't be surprising to me if it takes even longer. Depends on how big of a campaign he's going to create I guess.

Ah, you're right! I played it on release when mounted combat was very buggy, so I didn't use it.

I think it would be good for him to write a small condensed campaign, to have a short first game for a small price, and then make a bigger sequel.

It's a bit depressing that to play a cRPG in 2025+ we generally need to expect quality standards of 2-3 decades ago. I hope Larian never goes out of business to at least have that one speck of joy every 5 years.

I'd be satisfied if we at least had more cRPGs with the quaity Owlcat-quality.
