Yeah, it's currently sitting on a 44% rating on Steam.

I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss it entirely though. Let's see what they do as far as post-release support.

I've played 6 hours without a single stutter. 4k, ultra settings with RT and DLSS enabled but no frame generation. The game could surely use some optimization though as while I don't have a PC as stout as his ( Wccftech video) I have a very capable one and could definitely see people with mid range systems having framerate trouble.

I'm enjoying the game quite a bit, but it definitely has systems overload. As I'm 6 hours in and still getting tutorial pop-ups of new mechanics. The combat is block, parry, perfect parry based. It probably has the hardest perfect parry to consistently pull off of any game I've played. They vary them a lot. There's slow ones, delays, pauses, multiples and then ones that come out of nowhere at lightning speeds and sometime all from the same enemy. It has kept me off balance, usually after this much time in a game I've become pretty efficient at it but not in this game. Fortunately on normal difficulty enemies don't do so much damage that you die all the time. Even with missing so many perfect parries I've still only die a handful of times.

It gives me strong Ghost of Tsushima vibes, but probably is a notch below it in every way. Doesn't make it bad, but it's not quite in the big leagues either.

Seemingly another bad PC port:

It seems that using 120fps frame cap and/or DLAA is what's causing most problems.

I got it running on Ultra settings, 60fps cap, DLSS Quality, no FG — and it was running like a dream. They released a news update yesterday addressing this and a patch is on the way!

hmm, I haven't had a single slowdown in 11 hours now and I have 120 fps limit on. Also have Vsync on, not sure it's necessary to run them in tandem but if it ain't broke I'm not fixing it. I was around 60 fps at 4k and have since dropped it down to 1440p as I can't see a graphically difference and I get an almost steady 120 fps with it dropping a little lower on occasion. Again ultra settings with RT enabled. It's nice to see they are acknowledging that somethings going on for many and are working to solve it.

I've gotten much better at perfect parries. (countersparks) Apparently combat stance in this game is important. I was able to largely ignore it in nioh games.

found this snippet:

In "Rise of the Ronin", combat stances do not directly affect the parry window itself, but they do influence the timing and effectiveness of parries, especially when paired with the Counterspark mechanic.

Not sure how it effects timing but not the parry window. Anyway when I use the proper stance I land the counterspark much more reliably. So however it works it does make a difference.
