Couchpotato spotted a new archetype for Rogue Trader:

Level the Battlefield with the New Archetype and Origin in Lex Imperialis!

As the situation across the Koronus Expanse continues to escalate, the von Valancius dynasty is in dire need of new tactical advantages.

The new second-tier archetype the Overseer as well as the new Arbites origin introduced in the Lex Imperialis expansion offer the perfect solution to this problem.

Let's find out more!

Meet the Overseer

Overseers are flexible support specialists who deploy familiars — cybernetic creatures that can assist their masters in various ways. During combat, these loyal servants dash across the battlefield at great speed, amplifying their Overseer's offensive abilities, disrupting enemy maneuvers, and delivering additional damage with their claws and teeth. During exploration, they may also provide aid by pulling levers, dragging items, or uncovering hidden objects.

Familiars can’t be controlled directly (except in some rare cases), but they can be issued a variety of commands during their master’s turn, allowing them to perform a wide array of tasks. Each of them has its own stats and can be attacked as well as fall unconscious.

The Overseer stands out among second-tier archetypes in that it can be unlocked not only by picking one of the relevant first-tier archetypes (in this case, Officer or Operative) but also by having one of the relevant origins (ie, Sanctioned Psyker, Unsanctioned Psyker such as Idira, or the newly introduced Arbites origin).

Recently browsed my backlog for play and had to leave out games like this still in development. I ain't touching anything, until its finished, DLC-ed, final-patched and development is closed.

Nod, that's what I try to do as well, mercy. Sometimes they can be extra sneaky though about that supposed "last patch/update", I've been tricked more than once.

In contrast, I had a lot of fun with my first playthrough, so I look forward to more DLC releases. (I'm kind of hoping Lex Imperialis isn't the last DLC.) That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if they rebalanced it a bit at some point.

Not likely. They wont stop milking this successful game. :)
Based on their past games so damn true. Every game is milked for 5-10 years. :rotfl:

I replayed it when they released Void Shadows and had a lot of fun (again), and I'm considering to replay it again with this DLC. If only time was infinite, though.

Sure but see each DLC is either a hit or miss. That's my personal opinion.

Some add good content and others are shorter and just cosmetics.

That's not counting the hundreds of patches and hot-fix's either. 🤷‍♂️

I'll eventually do a big replay with all the important DLCs - cosmetic stuff or the odd new class doesn't really interest me, I want new quests/stories...
Yep new quests/stories that affect your player character. I don't want separate DLCs about a different NPC not tied to your campign. At least the last season of DLC for Wrath of the Righteous took that into consideration. Guess we'll see with future DLC.

And they agree with you. They said that bigger DLCs will be mostly tied to your campaign.

I played it again with Void Shadows and really enjoyed it. Although, the game needs some (more) rebalancing. It starts out difficultish but then becomes easier and easier even on highest difficulty.

I will not replay it just for the next DLC, but really hope they will flesh out the heretic path some more with updates or DLC and that will then warrent another run for me.

I might be in the minority, but I immensely enjoyed the space combat and would love to see more of that, too. I would even buy a game just doing that day one. There is so much potential there...

I enjoyed the space combat too, I think it's by far the best of the "army battle" systems that Owlcat has put together, whch may not be saying a lot since the ones from Pathfinder games weren't spectacular, but I wouldn't mind seeing more of Rogue Trader's ship battles myself.
