Thanks Couchpotato!Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven introduces several Character Classes, how its Battle System works, its non-linear Free-form Scenarios, and more
Square Enix provided a new extensive update on Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, the upcoming full 3D remake of Romancing SaGa 2 that was first revealed back a few months ago. A new blog post delves deep into a few aspects of this RPG tailored for both newcomers and veterans of the SaGa games.
There will be over 30 classes available to players in Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven; several of them were introduced including the Nomad, Crusader, and Martial Artist. There are even specific unconventional classes, such as the Saigo Clansman and Salamander; every class has its distinct strengths that interface with Romancing SaGa 2's systems in their own way.
People in Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven can see enemies on the field and launch a pre-emptive strike on them to gain the upper hand in battles immediately. Foes will receive some damage and their turns will come later than usual in the first turn. Plus, the player's party will be rewarded with a bit of Overdrive upon a successful pre-emptive strike. Be aware though, since enemies can also ambush the players too.
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven allows party members to act simultaneously through a United Attack. At first, only two party members can participate but this upper limit can be increased, so that five people can attack together in a United Attack Chain. The Overdrive gauge enables United Attacks, so careful management of it can lead to looping United Attacks.
Other out-of-battle systems, such as the Smithy, acquiring new Retinue members, and an example of what one of the many Free-form Scenarios can look like have also been touched upon in this new info drop for this extensive remake of a beloved RPG.
