Arcanum needs more of a reboot.

Nobody is clamoring for a Jade Empire remaster.

I'm not clamoring, but I enjoyed Jade empire a lot so I would like to see a remaster :)

My vote still goes for Ultima 7 (both parts)!! :)
Ultima 7 really needs a remake rather than a remaster. That combat system wouldn't cut the mustard today.

I'd love to see something happen with it though. I've never done a full playthrough of U7. It was already quite dated by the time I got around to trying it.

Knights of the Old Republic was great and I could see enjoying a remaster. Jade Empire was fun and maybe a remaster would be good. Dragon Age Origins and Deus Ex were great and are probably still okay as is so I don't know if I'd want a remaster of those.

Apart from graphics, I would say only Morrowind needs a new combat system and it would be good to go. The rest is still well playable.

I'm not even sure it needs a new combat system, the only thing I'd really like is new character animation. Mods already take care of graphics and combat is mainly a learning/familiarity issue.

Neverwinter Nights already has an enhanced edition out, so that could count as a remaster. Really though it needs a complete rebuild and overhaul. But I agree that most of the games on the list would make decent remasters.

Leave the old games alone for crying out loud! We need new gaming ideas; not to encourage this kind of creative bankruptcy. Bah! /grognard mode

Some of these games (DAO) are not "that old".
What about remakes of Might & Magic series, Ultima Underworld, Lands of Lore, some SSI RPGs ?

Truthfully every damn game needs a Remaster, and if publishers had their way it would be happening already. As it's cheaper and easier to just Remaster old games.

Seems the game industry is turning into the movie industry. :rotfl:

Worse - most remasters just window dress the graphics and leave the 20 year old game play; most movie remakes actually tweak the scripts though usually they turn out worse just like the game remasters.

That's the definition of a remaster, isn't it? Just a glow-up. Same exact game, more polygons, better textures, maybe improved animations, and that's it. Oh, and maybe a few bug fixes if the little buggers crawl under a developer's foot. If they start changing gameplay, it starts moving more toward remake territory, though they might get away with some little ones (mouse/keyboard support, cloud saves, more save slots...).

P.S. Isn't Horizon: Forbidden West about due for a remaster version? <smirk>
