Well I voted for Starfield, but didn't write the text. Writing the text is not a joint affair. I've done it in years past, but have not been very active this year. It is hard to write a glowing text for a game that doesn't speak to you, so you maybe right. Just don't think it reflects on all members of the team.I for one lately think combat doesn't matter anymore just make a good game. Now if you would have asked me six moths ago I would have ranted, and raved RTwP is best.
Also you can tell again the staff have no enthusiasm for Starfield as it gets one little sentence "Skyrim in Space" while the other three get a glowing paragraph as phrase.
The Baldur's Gate series is legendary among CRPG fans. Larian tries to revive it and already started a long Early Access phase. It will be their first game in which the story background is not created by themselves. But after the two hits Divinity: Original Sin I & II we think the new game is in good hands.
Owlcat Games next RPG Rogue Trader uses the Warhammer 40,000 setting:
"Set in the Koronus Expanse, a little-charted and perilous region of space, this backwater sector is rife with opportunities for explorers and adventurers alike. As a Rogue Trader, you will traverse incredible distances in your giant voidship as you chart this cluster of planets."
Sounds interesting!
And then this.Iron Tower RPGs stand for choices with consequences, multiple quest solutions and branching dialogue trees. We hope that the tactical RPG Colony Ship - A Post-Earth Role Playing Game will offer exactly these features and challenging combat.
Get annoyed or mad don't care that speaks for itself.Starfield is advertised as "Skyrim in Space" by Bethesda - enough to get many open-world fans excited.
Perhaps the biggest individual disappointment of 2022 was this PC and Xbox exclusive missing its November launch date and slipping into 2023. That may not be a bad sign. It’s encouraging that Microsoft was willing to endure a public thrashing from pundits to ensure this title from Elder Scrolls and Fallout mastermind Todd Howard lives up to its potential. Starfield is simply too important of a title for Microsoft to launch anywhere near average. A lot of pressure is on developer Bethesda to deliver after being acquired by Microsoft and you can expect the whispers of mismanagement over first party studios over at Xbox to turn into a loud roar among critics if this project fails.
We’re long overdue a big budget space game and Starfield should be precisely that. The ability to build and customise your own spaceship and bases, form a crew, take part in space battles, and explore over 1,000 different planets sounds like a sci-fi dream come true, even if it’s not clear quite how it’ll all work yet.
