The full version of Sacred Fire will be released in late summer this year:

Winter Update

Act 3 Testing, New Scenes, and Build Update

Hello everyone,

With the end of winter approaching, we’re ready to roll out another short development update – along with a 33% discount!

First things first, we know that some of you have been asking about a release month for 1.0. While we’re still waiting for Act 3 testing to be complete to make a better estimate, we can already tell you that we’re aiming for a late summer release this year.

Today’s update marks an important milestone for us, as the testing build has been updated with the rescue mission scenes you can see in the intro cinematic.

This game is almost a decade in the making at this point - I think - and looks like a game that could have been a mobile game made a decade ago...
And it's a text-based game that seems to have very little animation. Must be a hell of a lot of text. ;)

Seems they had succeeded with kickstarter back in 2017. And they missed planned release window by 7 years.

Well, it's definitely about the story. Dev's put a LOT of time and energy into choice and consequences at every level (every decision in the game has impact, and not just in the "cosmetic" sense), as well as creating a historically and culturally accurate portrayal of the native Britons and Romans.

Well, it does have a 94% rating on Steam with a decent number of reviews, so obviously there's an audience for it, though not my kind of game (I prefer my animation to be on the screen, as opposed to having to shake my head around (or the monitor) to make things appear to be moving).
