Sovereign Syndicate - Review

I’ll try to give this a looksie later this year for sure.

Only thing holding me back is the Card mechanic. I’m usually not a big fan of card-based RPGs but I understand their appeal.

PCGamer comparing it favorably to Disco Elysium is only a good thing though. Disco Elysium rocks.

I tried out the demo a while back and wasn't convinced - it was no where near as engaging as DE for me but perhaps the game is in much better state now.

I like the occult feel of the Tarot card mechanic.

Disco Elysium for me was deeply engaging philosophically and through the narrative flow of the game; had this fever dream sort of surreality to it.

Maybe I’m looking for something Lynchian or Twin Peaks-esque.

Have you ever tried Alan Wake? I'm pretty sure the developers binged Twin Peaks right before making it.
After Banner Saga that’s my MO: playing Alan wake 1 and/or 2.

PCGamer had this article on how Alan Wake 2 is the most like Twin Peaks Season 3 and that sold me on it.
