Who would have thought you make more money selling games on every platform, service, and console. Well Square finally has had enough with lost profits.

About damn time as I hate waiting years for a PC Port.

That's such great n... oh wait. When the next Final Fantasy 7 comes out, it will be a lot sooner, but it will be before the DLC shows up. Right now, I'm forced to wait for it. Next time, I'll have to use sheer willpower! This is going to be rough... ;)

Probably wont affect the third Final Fantasy 7 remake game or any other game that was under contract with Sony. It will change any new IP or future Final Fantasy games though.

I doubt it affects their PC release schedule though. They'll still do consoles first just more of them, and PC gamers will have to wait at least a years before getting a port.

They say they want to get in better with PC specifically. They aren't going to do that by giving the game to XBOX consoles and leaving us out in the cold again. Quoting from PC Gamer:
With its new plan, Square Enix says it wants to "build an environment where more customers can enjoy our titles", which essentially means it wants to release its games across more platforms quicker. In particular, Square Enix intends to "pursue initiatives designed to win over PC users, which represent a growth market."

The next FF7 game may already have a bunch of agreements worked out, though, so I won't be surprised if we don't get anything for that one. But maybe if there's an FF6 remake...
