System Shock 2: Remaster - Gameplay

Looks great. I know some people will complain that it's not enough of a remaster, but I think you can only do so much before you start changing the style and atmosphere.

It's really weird though seeing Xbox controller button prompts. 🎮

I wish this game was given a treatment like they did in the SS1 remake.

Is it me or did they have a very narrow fov? Felt a little disoriented.
Otherwise it looks good.
I didn't notice, but FOV will be adjustable.

So do I, but I'd also rather not have to wait another 5-6 years for it.

The classic works perfectly and looks good out of the box. While I appreciate the sharper graphics in the gameplay videos of the reworked version, but for me it does not warrant the £21.59 price tag.

No point to change my nostarga memory. Thinking on how i was playing back when, it is enough.

It's not just improved graphics. There are QoL, technical, and multiplayer improvements as well.

This is what the original with some mods looks like.

Also a bunch of mods to improve gameplay, features etc, I don't remember them all but they're nothing new and it's great fun playing the game today.

The original also supports EAX.

I'd bet that the original is easily the better option for playing the game today than this remaster. At least until it reaches mod parity, or unless you want something like achievements (yawn), controller support (whatever), multiplayer (in a horror game?)..

Felt too high to me! I got used to it after about 5 minutes, but at first the warped edges were really annoying. (I normally play games with FOV set between 65 and 70.)

Wut. Multiplayer coop was great in the original, and there are plenty of horror games with coop. Even the RE series has coop in some of its entries.

Great as an optional addition.

When it comes to the main story I do prefer the concept of a lone person on a ship/station trying to stay alive and figure out what has happened.
