Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon - Review

Visually most interesting in this video is the seemingly amazing lock picking sequence.

Yep enjoyed it myself.

I love the grim dark Arthurian setting. Having said that though the last two acts felt underdeveloped, but the developer has promised more content updates.

I'm still in Act 2 and the corrupted temple quest is VERY complex; I thought I'd never get out of there; I got totally lost!!

It was indeed bigger than I expected. It took me some time to become familiar with the layout.
The positive thing is that I visited everything in the temple, some places more than once. ;)

I've just started act 2 and found it quite step up in difficulty. I found Act 1 a little unbalanced difficultywise, I tend towards story or moderate difficulty in most games, but was finding it a bit too easy. This wasn't because I had happened on some wonderful build or weapon, I did my usual early days scattergun approach to my build.
Act 2 demands a much more considered approach so I've respecced. I still havent found my comfort zone of mildly challenging & engaging. Its either mind numbingly easy or I'm struggling too much for my liking.
Great game though, refreshingly so.

Which difficulty are you playing on? I'm glad to hear this game is challenging. I prefer that over too easy.

@JDR13 I played most of Act 1 on Adventurer (middle difficulty of five) and was even considering turning it up a notch. But then I went to Act 2, got proper deaded and am now safely back in the shallows of Explorer.

I think the game starts out somewhat hard, but then got too easy - I was playing a pure mage on Adventurer thoughout and I think magic (+ summons) is overpowered. It looks like melee is a lot more fiddly and you need to master block/riposte etc. I did have a bit of trouble when I first entered Act 2 - but after leveling a bit, it became fairly easy except for 1 or 2 boss fights. Long before the end of the game I was just crushing everything (summons are great at drawing aggro - they do somewhat trivialise combats though (I had 4 or 5) - I notice almost all people recommend taking them, so seems most are not keen on not using them and having to do hard combat it seems). So, if you want a challenge, don't use summons and go melee :)

Also - 'dash' makes combat way easier - if you have 'light' armor you can dash 3 times in quick succession before cooldown (which is fairly quick) and you are near invulnerable when dashing. So *pew* dash *pew* dash *pew* As a mage I had 3 dash - if you are a heavy armor fighter, then 1 dash and also a fighter dash and attacks both draw from stamina *ouch* whereas mage attack draws from mana. And you can spam potions (from shortcut or by opening inventory - I had so many potions eventuallythat healing as never an issue or mana).
