Description

Summary

A rogue-lite river journey through the backwaters of a forgotten post-societal America. Forage, craft, evade predators.

From the Art Director of BioShock and a team of veterans of the BioShock, Halo, Guitar Hero and Rock Band series comes The Flame in the Flood.

Travel by foot and by raft down a procedurally-generated river as you scrounge for resources, craft tools, remedy afflictions, evade the vicious wildlife, and stay ahead of the coming rains.

Features an original full length soundtrack by acclaimed Alt-Country rocker Chuck Ragan featuring The Camaraderie, The Fearless Kin and other special guests.

I'm not a fan of this type of game, but that music is great.

Speaking of game bargains, I'm liking the current GOG sale. Bunch of good games on that list.

The Freedom Force games at 12 bits each are a no-brainer, if you don't have them.

What really caught my eye, though, were the Hidden & Dangerous games...on sale here for $1 each. :) I loved this game was I was young. I don't even like shooters, but I like ARMA, and I liked this one. Hard as hell, as I recall. ARMA AI sniper head shots FTL. But once you accepted that this was by design, forcing you into what is really more of a stealth game, it wasn't so bad. And there is this action planner, where you put the members of your squad and their actions on a timeline, which can really do impressive things using teamwork, if you are willing to put in the time to learn how to use it well...and if my memory serves me properly. :p

And then you've got your Sid Meier and Mafia games and, not to be forgotten, a cheap way to fill in the holes of your Xcom collection.

Hidden and Dangerous was great. Played that one to death. Hard as nails - one error and it can be all over.

And don't forget to click on the GOG banner ad here at the Watch before you buy Hidden & Dangerous, because I think the Watch gets a few coins for that. :)
