The problem is that both parties are giving us less than ideal candidates. I don't like Trump, but I also realize the Democrats are a big reason he got elected. If you look at the last 3 elections, all of the nominees from that side were pretty bad.

Yup, I think age limits might help slightly with this to remove old decrepit people from seeking office. It is a fact that people start declining in mental faculties at a certain point, so why allow for that to happen to the highest chair in the land ?

Nobody wants to discuss the fact that the mainstream media was complicit in the coverup. Anyone saying anything of the sort about Biden was shouted down as a conspiracy theorist. Interesting, that. Should put a final bullet in the misguided argument that the mainstream media doesn't happily and consistently carry water for the democrats.

I saw this below CNN clip yesterday. 1:50 through 4:10 is the amusing part. Jake Tapper is blaming Democrats for lying to everyone to cover it up, but the thing is...literally everyone saw what was up with their own eyes and ears. There was no reason that these CNN guys should have believed what Democrats were telling them to begin with. But of course, as we know, that's all CNN ever does. If Biden was a Republican and Republicans were pushing the same coverup BS, CNN never would have bought the lies.

As discussed on this very thread multiple times, this is obviously highly partisan.

Fox as the mainstream rightwing media is pro-Trump and anything he does is ok.
All the other big outlets, are more leftwing and are pro-D and anything they do is ok.

Instead of actually acknowledging errors or wrongdoing on their side, both hyperpolarise.
It's obvious this is not going in the right direction ...

Yeah, I'm voting for "both". I'm still curious where all the defenders of the liberal media have run to. I got all sorts of grief around here over calling the mainstream media heavily biased and now that we've got "smoking gun" evidence of outright complicity, it's gone deathly silent around here. I'm actually not looking for heartfelt apologies (although that might be fun) but rather a little bit of introspection that maybe, just maybe, some of that liberal smugness and certainty was built on a steaming pile of bullshit.

Does raise some interesting hypotheticals, though. Had he run and won, how would this get handled? Would the mainstream media continue the conspiracy of lying to the public about his health? It would be hard to walk back the lies at that point, and they've certainly demonstrated no ability nor willingness to do it so far. How long would he be allowed to continue before the 25th Amendment kicked in, particularly if the media was loudly denying any issues?

While i do not take kindly to personal insults at least in the case of Trump there is proof that behind the scene many reporters acknowledge the insanity of Trump's actions; i'm not sure you can provide such concrete evidence for your claims. Last but least Trump winning the election has absolutely nothing to do with my statements; and i do not deny that he won the election so i fail to find any rational in your irrational reply but i suppose someone else might find it and explain it.

While I think Kamala would offer more sanity over Trump i'm not sure she would be the best president - kind of hard to tell because it was never clear what her policies would have been. Still someone would have to be pretty darn bad to out do Trump clear destruction to the country. While time still remains for something positive to happen i have my doubt he will accomplish one thing that is positive other than enriching himself to the tune of 10 or 15 billion dollars.

Certainly the country literal health is going to be a lot worse as more common diseases are allowed to spread unchecked as they attack vaccines and similar.

And of course the economy will be left in shambles if he continues to follow through on his threads for tariff not to mention the gut wrenching attack on the budget which is likely to increase the deficit trillions of dollars while improving the wealthy bottom line and gutting govt services.

At the very least if he is going to gut govt services he could improve the bottom line for the budget... but nope that would be too much to ask.

There was a storm coming in today. I checked the Weather Channel web page at 3:40pm, and it said it would be hitting in about half an hour, then raining for hours afterward. Ah, plenty of time to sneak out and grab a quick dinner! Five minutes later, it was coming down in buckets. A minute after that and some hail got mixed in. I bailed out and drove home ASAP. It started to lighten up at about 4:15pm. The Weather Channel fails again.

Then, at 4:25pm, the National Weather Service issues a severe thunderstorm warning! Hail and 80mph winds on the way! I thought another wave was going to come in, but no. This was a warming for the storm that hit 45 minutes ago and was now just a light drizzle! Gee, thanks feds. Running a little short staffed, huh?

Heh, this will become more common for the US, considering the sudden severe decrease in funding this spring.

It's fine not wanting to pay for researching weather and climate, but it will have an impact.
